About The Event

It can be overwhelming as just one person to try to have a positive impact on our environment. A great place to start is with what we eat. How do our choices while shopping for food and while in the kitchen affect the planet? Join us to learn how eating local, organic or plant-based - and what we do with food waste - impacts on our carbon footprint. Get localized tips specifically for living and eating sustainably in NCW.

Bios: Joan Qazi and Jana Fischback are two local climate experts who have lived a vegetarian lifestyle for a combined 20 years. Joan is a Geography Professor and Sustainability Coordinator at Wenatchee Valley College. She is also trained as a Climate Reality Leader and her research has included sustainable agriculture and local food systems. Jana is Executive Director at Sustainable NCW, a local nonprofit that promotes a culture of environmental stewardship…
