CoOp on the Go (COG)

Our volunteers and staff visited middle schools and offered free bike repair and maintenance workshops.

Kids who participated walked away with valuable biking knowledge; some won a free bike and helmet. Many kids fixed up their old bikes, and we were able to trade in those bikes for refurbished ones that were better suited to their size and needs as they grow.

What is next for this project?

We are programming for fall workshops! Do you want your school to be next? Do you want to volunteer for one of these workshops?

Email us at bike@sustainablencw.org

What are the primary goals of this project?

  1. We want to continue engaging our Wenatchee Valley community to understand how a bike repair co-op can be of greatest benefit to families and youth.

  2. By offering bike repair and safety workshops at local middle schools and community events, we hope to grow residents' skills and confidence in biking.

  3. Through refurbished bike giveaways, we hope to increase the number of bikes on the roads and reduce vehicle miles traveled and their related emissions.

All of these elements, combined, will improve air quality and the health and wellness of overburdened community members.
